Great start to this season’s Photographer of the Year competition.

This season’s Photographer of the Year competition got off to a great start last night with the room at Chapel Field jam-packed to see our judge for the evening Rex Makemson review and score a record number of entries.

In order to give new members of the Society the best opportunity to score well this was an open themed round where entrants were asked to ‘let us see your best images’.  So it turned out with new member Gary Hagg scoring two maximum scores with his images - Flower Fairy and Golden Cross.

Speaking at the end of the evening Rex thanked the Society for inviting him and then went on to remark upon the high quality of the mostly creative images entered in the competition and also praise everyone for the friendly, welcoming environment created throughout the evening.

Anyone interested in photography who supports the Society’s objectives is eligible for election to membership as either a Full or Junior member. If you are interested in joining you can attend a maximum of two meetings (except Special Presentations or other events for which guest tickets can be purchased) as a Temporary member before you are required to apply for membership.
