Open Photographic Competition
Tonight at midnight our 2nd Open Public Competition closes and we begin the mammoth task of selecting the three photographs that will be displayed at this year’s Annual Exhibition at Norwich Cathedral in September.
Here is a reminder of the photographs that won our inaugural competition from Bradley Damms, Justin Minns and Rob Stephens last year. .
We are extremely grateful to everyone who has made the effort to submit images this year. Already, the number of entries in this year’s competition exceeds last year’s very successful competition and looking through the images it is clear that the quality of the images is equally very high and by far exceeds our original expectations.
Good luck to all out entrants as we begin the task of selecting the a shortlist of 20 images that will be chosen by our panel of photographers before the judge of this year’s Annual Exhibition chooses the final three winning entries and two reserves. Throughout the final selection process the selection panel and the judge will be told the title of the image but will be unaware of the name of the photographer. Therefore the need to select a couple of reserves since each entrant is restricted to only having one of their images in the exhibition.
Once the judging is complete the winners will be contacted and asked to provide high resolution files of their winning entry so we can complete the formalities and get the images printed and mounted ready to be displayed alongside our members’ work during the exhibition.
At this time we shall also announce the winner of the ‘Young Photographer’ award and name the entrants whose images made the final 20 in this year’s competition.
The three winners will all receive an invitation to attend the Chasing the Light Road Show on Saturday 14th September where they will be awarded their certificate from David Noton.
