The theme for the fifth and last round of POTY is ‘The emotion of being alone’. The inclusion of the word ‘emotion’ in the theme probably suggests an image that portrays much more than a single specimen or subject but remember it is only the judge’s view that counts when scoring the image as to whether or not the brief has been met…!
This is a Digital Round for which digital images must be submitted no later than midnight on Tuesday 14th April in accordance with the competition rules which can be downloaded from the ‘member's’ area’ of the website . Prints can be handed in on the night of the competition no later than 7:15pm.
The images should be the same size as for all other NDPS competitions and titled as the following example:

Consisting of five rounds throughout the season the annual Photographer of the Year (POTY) competition is a marathon rather than a sprint…! The winner is the NDPS member who obtains the highest aggregate score at the end of the competition in accordance with the rules. Each round has an individual theme and in addition a separate prize is awarded to the ‘best’ photograph. Each round is judged by an independent judge from the current list of EAF registered judges.
Images (both print and digital images) submitted by a Member into POTY must be solely their copyright and other intellectual property rights and must not infringe any copyright or other intellectual property right of any third-party. Submission of any entry in POTY confirms acceptance (by the Member) of the Rules of the Competition and NDPS’s General Competition Rules, any guidance published before the start of individual competitions and all other NDPS policies..
Clarification if there is any doubt should be sought from the Competition Secretary before the image(s) is question are submitted.
