Tonght is the inaugural of a new feature that we hope will appear regularly throughtout the weekly programme in the future. TAKE FOUR is an opportunity for four members of the Society to give a short 25 minute talk about their own photography and to show some of their images. First up are - Joan Jordan, Nick Lewis, Graeme Taplin and Maurice Young.

Activity/Practical/Technique Evenings are where we get the chance to learn about photographic techniques, find out how to critique our images, learn practical stuff like editing techniques or photo-mounting, and occasionally go outside with our cameras. Tonight, we shall set-up at least two areas where members will have an opportunity to take portraits of the models who we have invited along to the meeting.

Just bring your camara and someone will be on hand to help you if you are unfamimilar with this type of photography. A nifty 50 or a 24-70mm zoom lens is ideal unless you have a specialist prime lens such as a 85mm.

Estelle Long, an experienced model who regulary visits NDPS and also collaborates directly with some of our members together with Rose Weaver, who will be visiting NDPS for the first time have kindly agreed to model for us tonight,

With normal meetings of the Society suspended for the foreseeable future due to the government backing a policy of self-isolation to tackle the spread of the coronavirus the recently formed In Focus sub-committee has been deciding how to keep members connected during these difficult times.
Besides the regular messages and newsletters that have gone out (and will continue to be sent out) to each member an alternative programme of virtual meetings has been produced until the end of the current season.

Tonight is our first Virtual Meeting and is an opportunity to catch up with other members and to find out what is going on.

Meet outside the Forum for our annual photo-shoot around the city centre to capture festive images of the Christmas lights and late night shoppers making their way home

After the shoot we shall all meet-up at the Adam & Eve pub for a warming drink before heading off home.

On of the highlights of the season is the quality of the special presentations at NDPS which arguably alone are worth more than the annual cost of membership.
