Norwich & District Photographic Society

The Society has an active studio group. Regular shoots are organised with the opportunity to photograph a variety of models – both male and female. These can be portraiture , fashion , glamour , alternative and figure studies. Shoots normally take place at Chapelfield on Monday evenings once a month.

Shoots are usually limited to 6 photographers to give adequate time for each member. Studio flash is normally used and the only thing needed to participate is a camera.

Location shoots are also arranged from time to time with a model.

Recent locations used have been a working garage , medieval hall , derelict church , courtroom , disused office , city subway , cemetery and the beach.

Sessions also provide the opportunity to learn about setting up and using studio lighting to achieve different styles of image, various composition styles using models, image processing and generally discussing shots.

Because the shoots are self financing the participants have to cover the cost of the room hire , studio equipment and model fee. This is normally from £15 to £25 each depending on the model and their levels.

Shoots are well organised , friendly and fun. They are quite often over subscribed and so normally only open to members of NDPS.

We have both male and female photographers taking part and their abilities range from professionals through to beginners.

New members are particularly welcome and help is always on hand.

To find out more or if you wish to take part in a shoot please speak to the studio organiser – Brian Ebbage FRPS.
