Apply for Membership

NDPS runs a full programme of events throught the whole year. We meet every Tuesday evening from the first week in September until the end of June the following year at 7:15pm in the Methodist Church Hall on Chapel Field Road, Norwich, NR2 1SD. During the months of July and August we have a regular programme that consists in the main of outdoor activities.

The membership of the Society consists of Honorary members, Full members, Junior members (and Students), and Temporary members. All members are required to comply with, and abide by, the Constitution and Rules of the Society.

Anyone interested in photography who supports the Society’s objectives is eligible for election to membership as either a Full or Junior member. If you are interested in joining you can attend a maximum of two meetings (except Special Presentations or other events for which guest tickets can be purchased) as a Temporary member before you are required to apply for membership.

Full members - must be over 18 years of age and may vote at Annual or Extraordinary General Meetings. They may also participate in all Society affairs except where they are specifically excluded by the Constitution or Rules. Currently the annual subscription for Full members is £40. The full annual subscription is payable upon applying to join the Society and becomes due for renewal on 1st September each year.

Junior members (and Students) - must be at least 16 but under 18 years of age or students still in full-time education.  Junior members (except student over 18 years of age) are welcome to join the Society with the proviso that prior written authority is obtained from a parent or legal guardian. Junior members have full membership rights but have no voting rights. Currently the annual subscription for Junior members is £20. Again, the full annual subscription is payable upon applying to join the Society.

Honorary members – a full member who has shown outstanding service to the Society may be awarded honorary membership. In addition, the Society may also award Honorary membership to distinguished persons, who support or have a close connection with the Society or the art of photography within the local community.

All Members of the Society must comply with the Constitution, Policies and Procedures. Members are also expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times and to uphold the good name of the Society and its reputation.
