Pictorialist Group Shoot - Cromer

  • Norwich & District Photographic Society Cromer Pier Cromer United Kingdom (map)

A different view of Cromer

On Saturday 9th October at 2pm we will gather at the entrance to Cromer Pier to make some Pictorialist images of Cromer, the following Google searches are a starting point for inspiration, which was a suggestion that Tony Bramley made when he gave ua a talk earlier in the year.

The idea is that no-one tales a single standard photo of Cromer while we are there, trying to express the spirit of Cromer without the obvious compositions.

Between us we have Canon, Pentax and Nikon fit Lensbabys that we will bring, if anyone wants to try them.

If there are any specific lenses / equipment that the group would like to try, then please let us know - I suggest in good time, by Tuesday 28th September - and we can see if anyone in the group is able to provide them.

The planned programme for the afternoon is:

2pm Meet at Cromer Pier entrance to discuss, please remember to bring £1 for club insurance, then disperse and make images for an hour

3:15pm regroup at the pier entrance to review and discuss and then head off for another hour

4:30pm regroup at the pier entrance and find some fish and chips!

Meet at Cromer Pier at 2pm

About the Pictorialist Group

The group embraces a wide range of experimental and craft based techniques including paper making, wet photographic processes, infra-red; x-ray; vintage equipment and lenses, alternative lenses, and alternatives to lenses, such as pinholes or even alternatives to conventional cameras!

All in the interests of creating something beautiful, interesting or both.

Please remember, our group can only be as good as the input made by its members so if you are willing to organise or lead any kind of event that you think will be of interest to members, please step forward. Please don’t be shy – all offers of help will be greatly appreciated…!
