A Pictorialist Group Shoot at Castle Acre Priory and Castle

On Saturday 12th November at 11:00 am we will gather at the Bailey Gate in Castle Acre. We plan to spend the morning exploring the castle and the nearby priory.

We plan to meet back at the Bailey Gate for lunch at 1pm, when we can choose a tea room or pub.

Castle Acre Priory is maintained by English Heritage, if you aren't a member the cost of entry is £9.00 or £8.10 without a donation, it’s slightly cheaper if you're over 65.

The Castle is free to enter as are the grounds of the priory and some beautiful river walks around the village.

Members will need to buy their own ticket for the priory if they wish to visit as well as bringing £1 for club insurance.

The priory website can be found here and the castle website here.

Please note:
Don’t forget to check the arrangements before setting out if there has been extreme weather overnight.

About the Pictorialist Group

The group embraces a wide range of experimental and craft based techniques including paper making, wet photographic processes, infra-red; x-ray; vintage equipment and lenses, alternative lenses, and alternatives to lenses, such as pinholes or even alternatives to conventional cameras!

All in the interests of creating something beautiful, interesting or both.

Please remember, our group can only be as good as the input made by its members so if you are willing to organise or lead any kind of event that you think will be of interest to members, please step forward. Please don’t be shy – all offers of help will be greatly appreciated…!
