ZOOM MEETING/PRESENTATION

Photo-Competitions have always been and will continue to be essential part of the Society’s DNA. Since the Gurney Cup was first presented in 1909 for the ‘best local record’ competitions have been an integral part of each season at NDPS and next season will be no different.

From September 2021 there are new Competition Rules and Conditions of Entry for all NDPS competitions which members will now find in the Members’ Area>Useful Documents area of the website.

In addition, you will also find the additional Rules that apply for all next season’s individual competitions including:

• Photographer of the Year

• Annual Print Panel Award

• Images of the Year (both print and projected digital image)

• Monthly Image (our friendly monthly competition)

Whether you are a seasoned participant or about to enter NDPS competition for the first time this eMeeting has been designed to provide you with all the information you need so that we can all enjoy the fun of taking part:

• Image Eligibility and Copyright

• Definitions that apply to NDPS competitions

• Preparation of Digital Images – size, colour space, metadata requirements

• Naming digital images ready to be submitted via the website

• What happens if your image is rejected

• Preparing mounted prints

• A look at the rules for the main annual competitions

During the past few months the Society has been talking to Sheffield Photographic Society about the two Societies forging closer ties in the future.

A number of initiatives have been considered and are being worked through but as a start it was agreed that a starting point should be a joint meeting where we can get to know each other better and share images of our two Cities and surrounding countryside.

We hope that NDPS members will join us in giving a warm welcome to Sheffield members.
