e.NDPS - Digital Image Processing

  • Norwich & District Photographic Society Online Event (map)

First Session with Ian Wilson
Following Ian Wilson’s successful presentations to the Society on digital image processing he has kindly agreed to deliver a programme of six monthly tutorials for NDPS members.
Details of how to enrol on this programme have been published in the Society’s weekly eNewsletter In Focus.

This is the first tutorial and will be about "RAW Files and RAW Conversion".  This will cover some background about what constitutes a RAW file, and what differentiates it from the "cooked" formats like PSD, TIFF and JPEG.  It will also cover the basics of how to extract the maximum amount of information from a RAW in order to get the best possible starting point for future processing.

Details for joining the zoom call will be sent out to members enrolled on the course of tutorials a few days before the session..

About e.NDPS meetings
During the COVID-19 restrictions the Society put together a revised programme that was presented online.  These meetings proved to be very successful, with good attendance - thanks all our members, speakers and judges who adapted so quickly to this medium. It also showed us that there were other benefits of online meetings such as discussion groups or forums which could be held without the need for everyone to be in the same place together
Another possibility is to occassionally invite speakers who for logistical reasons are either too far away or costly to host in person at the Methodist Hall.
This season we shall be experimenting with a number of ideas to see which work best. We look forward to receiving your feedback and comments…!
