Due to the governments restrictions that were in place last September the 104th Annual Exhibition was cancelled and in its place Norwich & District Photohgraphic Society held a digital online exhibition - the first time since 1946 that our annual exhibition did not take place.  We are therefore delighted to return with a physical exhibition this year which for the first time is being held in St. Margaret’s – The Church of Art in the centre of Norwich and we trust that visitors enjoyed viewing the photographic prints on display.

Norwich & District Photohgraphic Society shall return again to the Hostry at Norwich Cathedral in September 2022 but starting in 2022 we also hope to hold each year a new additional ‘pop-up’ exhibition of individual members’ photography at The Art Church in the centre of Norwich.

The gallery below contains a digital image of each entry considered by our judges to be worthy of a place in the exhibition. They are shown in a similar sequence to how they would have been viewed by someone walking in a counter-clockwise direct starting from the right hand side of the church next to the main entrance

We are extremely grateful to local judge and accomplished photographer Nick Akers ARPS, BPE3* and his equally experienced and talented wife Liz Akers ARPS, BPE3* who judged and selected the entries for this year’s exhibition.

Talking about Flooded Meadow in Morning Mist by Patricia Wilden selected Best Print in the Exhibition and awarded the Hampson Challenge Trophy Nick and Liz said:

“..We were both drawn to this atmospheric print ‘Flooded Meadow in Morning Mist’ as soon as we saw it. The simple composition with the tree on the left balancing with the bridge handrails on the right, both of which stand out very clearly from the background  shrouded in mist is very striking. The limited colour palette, white vignette and pastel treatment all added to the effect and the image was very well printed. In our opinion a worthy winner…”
