Invitation from Regular's Table in Koblenz to attend photo-talk

 ZOOM MEETING

A limited number of NDPS members are invited to attend a talk by Pierrot Men about the People in Madagascar.

The talk is being organised by Regular’s Table - a group of photographers in the Koblenz area including several members from Foto-Club Koblenz who meet regularly to discuss photography.

This is how Regular’s Table have described the talk:

Talk in the photo regulars table: "Pierrot Men: People in Madagascar". If there is a photographer of the culture and the people in Madagascar, then it is surely Pierrot Men. He describes everyday life on this island in East Africa in incomparably sensitive photos. His pictures seem so incredibly intimate because he is so close to people and he meets everyone at eye level. He is accepted as one of theirs and quickly becomes invisible. Children are particularly close to his heart and are very fond of him. What is particularly impressive are the harmonious compositions, which, given the spontaneity of the work, seem almost unbelievable. Pierrot Men began his creative life as a painter, for which he took his own photos. When he realized that his photos were much more haunting than his paintings, nothing stood in the way of his incomparable career as an island photographer. He soon won prizes - for example his beloved Leica - and showed his pictures in exhibitions. His love is black and white photography; but he also takes fascinating color photographs. Pierrot Men has been running a photo shop in Madagascar for 40 years, where he sells his pictures. On March 15th we welcome Pierrot Men directly from Madagascar to our regulars' table via ZOOM (6 pm UK time). He will tell us about his work and show us pictures. A translation by the French-speaking photographer will be provided (partly restricted in English but worth while watching anyway).

NDPS Members who wish to attend the talk MUST RESERVE their place using the link below to the Society’s Booking System. The Booking System will close 10 days before the event so we can register participants with the team in Koblenz so the link to access the zoom meeting can be sent out in good time
