ZOOM MEETING

A limited number of NDPS members are invited to attend a talk by Peter Ginter who is a photo-reporter in the best sense of the word.

The talk is being organised by Regular’s Table - a group of photographers in the Koblenz area including several members from Foto-Club Koblenz who meet regularly to discuss photography.

This is how regular’s Table have described the talk:

For the regulars 'table evening on April 19 th, 2021, (6 pm UK time) the regulars' table team was able to win over photographer Peter Ginter for a lecture. Peter Ginter is a photo reporter in the best sense of the word, he tells us about the world, takes us visually on his excursions and reports with great pictures.

With his work he is in the best tradition of magazine photography, which brought the world into the living room in the time of Life, Time and Harper’s Bazaar. The fact that Peter Ginter manages this successfully even in a time of flood of images is due to the quality of his image inventions, which combine information with aesthetics and visual sensation.

Born in 1958 in the Black Forest, he won the German Youth Photo Prize when he was 16 and 18. He has now won the World Press Photo Award 5 times and publishes regularly in Geo, Stern and National Geographic magazines, among others. Ginter is particularly happy and successful in reporting on technical topics in a quality that can hardly be surpassed - he has published an entire book about the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. But people always remain his central concern.

Even if the technology in Ginter's pictures sometimes seems to be overwhelming, his works always show that it is the person who thinks it up, creates it and seeks to use it for his own benefit. The portrait is also important to him, preferably on site at people's workplaces. In his presentation, Mr. Ginter will show selected photographic works with a focus on technology and also report on the background of the pictures and his approach to photo jobs.

NDPS Members who wish to attend the talk MUST RESERVE their place using the link below to the Society’s Booking System. The Booking System will close 10 days before the event so we can register participants with the team in Koblenz so the link to access the zoom meeting can be sent out in good time
